Dominique joined Hughes Watters Askanase as an associate in 1995 and became a partner in 2003.
Dominique focuses her practice on creditors’ rights in bankruptcy and in probate, where she initiates dependent administrations on behalf of secured creditors. She has extensive experience in conventional and home equity foreclosures and evictions; the collection and handling of defaulted loans and loss mitigation. She also has a keen understanding of recent legal developments that affect the mortgage and credit union industry.

Dominique enjoys traveling to Italy to visit family and friends and as President of the HBAA Charitable Fund has chaired the Annual Chili Cookoff since 2015 to raise money for scholarships for deserving law students. As President of HYLA she helped establish the HYLA Leadership Academy for rising young lawyers. She is married to Roy Varner, a mortgage loan officer and has two boys, Grant and Nicholas.
